Local Support

Local Volunteers

Moor Park and Eastbury Neighbours Together started its life in March 2020 when the Covid pandemic hit. We quickly recruited 40 volunteers made up of local residents, and provided an essential grocery shopping service for elderly and vulnerable residents. Our outreach grew, and we started a food hub, baked for key workers, fed the homeless community, supported families in need, helped local care homes and provided food parcels for children at a learning disability school and families living in temporary housing units. It’s safe to say through all of this voluntary work we have made many connections with individuals, groups, charities and businesses. Without them, our amazing volunteers and a supportive local community we could not have achieved what we have.

We are still doing what we can to help the local community through various initiatives, albeit in a reduced capacity. However, please feel free to reach out to us. If we are unable to help you ourselves, we may know where to signpost you.

As the cost of living crisis worsens, the ERA team asked us to put together a list of places where residents can ask for a helping hand during these difficult times.
